The first flight of Falcon Air owned by the District Development Fund has landed at Hwange Airport in the Hwange National Park.
DDF and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority have signed a Memorandum of Agreement, and this development will promote domestic tourism within the country.
ZTA Acting CEO Mr. Givemore Chidzidzi said “the signing of the agreement is strategic and expected to boost tourism recovery which has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
The provision of flights to domestic and remote areas is expected to improve the destination access across the country.
The Minister of Environment, Water, Climate and Hospitality Industry Hon. M. Ndlovu also attended the signing ceremony and he said “The MOU is expected to facilitate the expansion of tourist destinations in remote areas.”
Falcon air is expected to compliment the national airline Air Zimbabwe.
